La Vie 101

So. Of course I have to talk about it. Montreal Canadiens. They Won their first series against Boston… Woohoo!

I had no faith after the 6th match I’ll admit. But they manage to win 5 - 0 and it was an incredible game too. Props to Boston who really gave them a run for the win.

After the match I started hearing people screaming “go habs go” in the streets and people honking their horns. It was really an electric atmosphere all over Montreal. I mean I am in Rosemont, 15 minutes driving distance from downtown and I still felt it. People came out of the bars on my street and celebrated outside for a while. It was all in good fun, and happy moments.

I went to bed, all things normal in the world. This morning, I see on TV that the celebrations degenerated into a fucking riot. A bunch of no-good de-evolved Neanderthals started destroying downtown Montreal!

About a hundred of angry, or drunk, or extremists or just plain stupid, or all of the above people that weren’t even at the game for most premeditated their hit. Of course it would have had a lot more impact if the Canadiens would have lost. But they won! Now it looks even more retarded!

They waited for the 20,000 plus people to get out in the streets, the celebrations remained cool while people were getting to their cars or just staying out and celebrating and that group of 100 or so monkeys wearing Canadiens jerseys, mixed to the crowd and started throwing rocks in store windows,  smashing cars, burning police cars, even beating up Boston fans!

I can’t understand organized groups like this. What did they want to achieve? What was the point of destroying a part of downtown and 16 police cars, and beating people up? What is the motivation? These people were happy to be doing wrong and hurt people. And did it after SOMETHING GOOD actually happened to us.

I understand when our government is doing wrong and we go in the streets and say no this is not how things are going to work, but a hockey team winning? C’mon.

You bunch of monkeys need to find something else to do with yourself!

And now, what I expected and frustrates to hell out of me is what the rest of Canada has to say about that. For you non-Canadians you will see by that quote below that yes French-Canadian hate IS real and always present. Although I never understood it. And by the way if you haven’t figured it out by now the FC stands for French Canadians in my title.

Here is a part of a comment I read on a online newspaper:

“This is definately a Quebec (French-Canadian) “THING”. This does not happen anywhere else in Canada and it occurs consistently in Montreal. This was just the first round, what can be expected if the Canadiens move ahead? The entire Montreal Canadiens organization should immediately condemn this behaviour, the instigators and those arrested should be banned from the arena and their pictures should be aired. In my opinion Calgary is one of the if the the most Hockey oriented cities in the world but that is what it is about “HOCKEY” We celebrate our teams successes and offer support in their losses….”

The ignorance shown in this comment is just precious, I have been living in Montreal for 8 years now and riots like this does NOT “occur consistently”.

Also, it’s NOT because it happened in Quebec that French-Canadians are the cause of it. Montreal is a multi-cultural city. As a matter of fact, half the city is English speaking. This happens everywhere. Vancouver in 1994? When Calgary flames fans beat up Edmonton Oilers fans? Dude, if I want to know about pick up trucks, I’ll go to Alberta and ask you about it. Otherwise, just shut up.

There are stupid people everywhere. But no. Because of that stupid incident now the majority of people will think that about 6 millions of Quebecois are primitive and the Canadiens fans sucks when if facts, according to a recent study amongst other hockey teams, we are known as the BEST fans in the NHL.

Most people never see the big picture. They don’t think. They judge without the facts, interpret the news as they wish and it’s just very sad. All the French Canadian hate being written as I write this just because of a bunch of losers that are probably not even French-Canadians choosing to do wrong.

I am angry.

I can only imagine if the finals go Habs-Avalanches. The old Nordiques fans vs. Habs fans rivalry will just be such a great reason for organized crime groups to act up again.

The police say they will make sure this doesn’t happen again, but… how can you prevent stupidity? It’s just like terrorism, you can’t see this shit coming.
